    No Code

Down the rabbit hole I kept hearing the term no-code thrown around recently, and I had the general idea of what it might be based on some research I had done to see how I could get my kids into programming. I just had not heard it called no code before. Then I saw a repo called nocode and had a good laugh about it. The description of this repo is, “The best way to write secure and reliable applications.

    Maintenance Mode

Backstory What do you do when you are a small company and don’t want to have a multi regional roll out, but need to upgrade a core feature? I throw out a maintenance mode message. I would love to find a better way, but I have yet to find it. It would be wonderful if someone could point me in that direction, but for now, I will stick with this methodology.

    Change Jenkins URL from CLI

Where did I go wrong?! Well, as I stated in Disabling Jenkins Security I am not experienced in managing Jenkins servers to the degree that I would like. And so when I perform updates I like to create an AMI backup and spin that one up to be able to test upgrades of packages and Jenkins itself. Once I started up the AMI I tried to access it with it’s public dns record.

    Disabling Jenkins Security

The start to my troubles So I started my day off the other day making an AMI of a Jenkins server, because we needed to update the server and wanted to make sure that the updates didn’t break anything. I ran into two issues when I started; the first was I couldn’t access the GUI and the Second was once I could access the GUI I couldn’t login due to the domain not matching for Google.

    Why I blog

Who am I? Sometimes I don’t know who I am to an extent that I would be happy with the answer. At this time I am a father, a husband, a programmer, and an automation lover. I hate to see inefficient things in code when I know that there are so many better options out there. So why do I blog? Because I can. No seriously. I’m bored, and I need something better to do with my time then playing games that cause too much frustration, browsing social media until I feel like a zombie, or watch shows that just drag and can’t keep my attention.
